Dear Nannette,

I and my husband are a success story from 2 years ago from your site!!!

Cliff and I met on shining star in late November/early Dec. of 2001. He lived in Wisconsin and I lived in Indiana. At that time I was very heavy (300--I had just lost 40 lb.). I didn't post my picture on the net. He put on his profile that he was disabled, but sounded like someone I'd like to get to know. He thought I wrote to him just to be able to win that contest to see who wrote to the most people!

Anyway, he drove down to meet me around Christmas and stayed about 3 days. Even though he didn't say it to me aloud, he was not impressed (my weight), but thought I was nice.

We kept in touch via email, and phone. I basically "chased" him and wouldn't let up. In the meantime, my dietary and exercise habits changed, God gave me victory over appetite and my weight started dropping. Cliff was very encouraging. By February I knew I was in love. It took him about another month before he gave me HIS heart. He didn't know what I looked like as I changed, but came back to visit in March at my birthday. He stayed longer.

We made plans that I should move to Wisconsin (with my 2 children), but weren't sure when and how. He came back in May and took me to visit Wisconsin. At this time he asked me to marry him. We went back to Indiana and got all our stuff and moved to Wisconsin. (I was STILL losing weight).

We were married in November of 2002. By the time summer of 2003 rolled around, I had lost a total of 170 lb. (1/2 of me!)

Thanks to shining star for introducing us--it changed my life in many ways (and his too--he calls me his "treasure".!)
