There is a beautiful program called "Divorce care" It has helped me tremendously. Look it up in search engine. It is for anyone contemplating divorce, marriage or staying together. If your spouse would not go with you, it still allows you to look to God for answers and reminds you that God loves you both regardless of your condition, however if divorce is still your choice, then it offers several biblical contexts through which God( the ultimate judge and saviour)understands your predicament.

Ma'am, having lived as a kid through my parents' divorce - and alot of child abuse from my dad, my siblings, and later my mom, I am not a fan of divorce.
...I am also not a fan of how abuse affects kids, however. My dad was a _major_ control freak ( everything had to be his way ). God wants parents to love each other and to love their kids.... and treat everyone in the family right. God is not abusive to His bride, the church. God also says "by their fruit ye shall know them'.
Ma'am, I don't know how God feels about divorce on the basis of spousal abuse or child abuse, but it is unthinkable that God would not want you to protect your kids or yourself! If your husband is that controlling before your first anniversary, it's like that verse in Proverbs ( 19:19, I think ) - an angry man must pay the penalty; if you rescue him once, you will have to do it again... in other words, if he's abusive now chances are he will be worse five years from now.
Ma'am, if I were you I'd seriously pull hard on the ejection seat levers and bail out. Control freaks are selfish and self-centered; they NEVER think about others ( I learned this painfully ). That's all the wisdom I have, and I pray for you as I type this... God Bless and good luck.

I am looking for direction in mine and my children's life. I remarried last November...I thought he would be the one for us, but he isn't. He has his good points but the stress is too great. He wants everything done the way he wants it, must act and speak a certain way....I feel trapped. Our home is not a family...I've even lost contact with my kid's. I can't do anything on my own, unless he approves..which isn't much. He is somewhat overbearing...I am so unhappy. Is it wrong for us to leave? I can't take it much longer...Will I be punished if I get a divorce? Can I remarry later if I find him? Im 44..my kids are 17..15 boys and 14 girl.the kids father died in car accident in 1992. A home shouldn't feel like imprisionment. I hardly get to make any decisions...It's like..Im just there!...TY.
