I was reading the posts and see that some are wondering if you should stop looking for someone. Sometimes we think our prayers should be answered in OUR time not Gods. If things would have gone for me the way I wanted them to go, I would have ended up being married to someone who left me lying alone for 2 days after suffering a stroke, not one time did he ask if I was okay. My friend and neighbor came over to meet this person I met here, and found me very ill. She kicked him out of my home and got me to a medical facility where I underwent surgery to save my life. If I would have waited the three more days he was to be at my home, I would have been dead. Sometimes, what we see as unanswered prayers have really already been answered....sometimes the answer is wait, not yet...sometimes the answer is NO. But we, as Christians need to trust that the Lord KNOWS ALL. It is not our place to determine what God should give us. We are not deserving of God's love and forgiveness, but even though we betray Him repeatedly, He provides for all our needs, consistently and constantly. To throw our hands up in despair and proclaim, "I give up", is yet another betrayal to the Lord, unless it is said as we are giving up OUR WILL, and handing it over to GOD. We are to remain in constant hope in the Lord. He knows when the time is right, perhaps, when we don't get exactly what we ask for when we want it there are still lessons to be learned. Perhaps we are not yet the individual we need to be to meet our God-chosen life partner. Psalms 27:14 says: "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." God does not agree to give you anything you want and ask for; He does not promise that we can have whatever. He never said if you proclaim to be a Christian all your desires will be granted. He does promise that whatever challenges we face, we will not face alone. John 16:32 says, "I am not alone, for my Father is with me." Faith is that, FAITH, it is trust that the Lord your God will see to it that you are loved and cared for. It is knowing that He hears your prayers and that He is answering them. It does not mean that you will always get the answer you want, but you will get an answer. You just have to continue to trust in Him. Sometimes, we forget that it isn't about us, but rather, God. If we are failing to remember that, then we need to take some time to examine our heart and re-focus on our purpose. "Take up your cross, and follow me," means exactly that. We are to surrender all in this life so we gain eternal life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to meet someone to have as a life partner. But there are so many people in this world that we need to meet simply to share our beliefs and convictions. It is through these chance meetings that we become strong witnesses for the Lord. It is through these relationships that the word of God is spread. Stop expecting all your wishes to be granted when you want them. Then, start looking at all the things you have and see them for the wonderful blessings they are. I have found friendships here that I would have never found any other way. There is no greater blessing than to be in communion with others who love the Lord. If you find a life partner on this site, or anywhere, God saw fit to send them, in His time, not ours. Remember, GOD has the answers about what is best for us.
