I have to agree with friend2friend. You can't find hope for true love in romance movies. I know intellectually that this is entertainment, but a lot of people get caught up and want real life to be just like the movies. I truly believe that many women come to expect a man to be like the ones in the romance movies and thereby set themselves up for a big disappointment. How many times have you said or heard a woman say: "Why can't I find a guy like that?" after watching a romance movie? You can't find a man like that because guys in real life don't have a script! Of course, if a guy wanted, he could take a few tips from the movies and learn what makes most women's hearts go pitter-patter.
Don't put your hope in romance movies. Hope is only as strong as what it hopes in. Put your hope in the Lord. Fall in love with Him and let Him dance you to the partner He created just for you. Now THAT is romance!

I have enjoyed all of the movies that Meg Ryan has been in. Including You've Got Mail and French Kiss.

Got to be Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. The men in the movie were so chivalrous (is that a word?) and respectful of the women. Also, one that is not really a romance movie is Sleeping With the Enemy. The way that the guy that Julia Roberts' character met treated her and looked at her was enough to make ME melt!

Hands down, by far here are the top three Romance Movies, covering a wide arrayed time period:
Sleepless in Seattle with Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks
Pride & Prejudice with Colin Ferth & Keira Knightley
The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews & (forgot male actor's name)
There's nothing better than these three, but I'm open to suggestions-only great ones!
[Editor's note: There are a few versions of Pride and Prejudice. The 1940 version stars Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson. I loved that until the 1995 miniseries came out with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. The 2005 Keira Knightley version I found it to be a snore. I guess I just feel nothing compares to the Colin Firth version. - Nannette]

1. A Walk to Remember. I've watched it twice and it made me cry on both times.
2. Phantom of the Opera! One of the best movies I've watched so far(my opinion :D). The musical scoring was great too!
