Dee Henderson is a favorite author of mine too. Her stories are so real I can hardly put one down. It can be 2 in the morning before I look at the clock!

I don't typically read fictional books and haven't read any for years. However, my teenage daughter must read fictional books for school and I was unhappy with the secular fiction. So I checked the library for Christian fiction and found several books by the author, Dee Henderson.

I wanted to read her materials first before having my daughter read them, so I read my first fiction book since high school.

She has a series about the McNally siblings, all adopted by one another, and all with some type of medical or law enforcement occupation. I like Dee's style of writing because you actually LEARN something while reading the book. You learn all about the occupation of the character, whether it be a fireman, medic, doctor, FBI negotiator, federal marshall, etc.

Another series is on the military and I learned all about aircraft carriers and flying jets. I learned about Navy Seals and Parajumpers. I don't know where she comes up with the details of these occupations and missions, but she must do a lot of research. It was very educational and I approved of my daughter reading each one.

As Christian fiction, each book also has a message about Christianity. The book on death does not agree with the Biblical teaching that we sleep in the grave until Christ's return and the resurrection, but there is just a small mention that the dead person is in heaven, rather than sleeping in the grave. (See Bible verse below.)

Anyway, I highly recommend her books for those who do enjoy Christian fiction, and for those who are looking for reading alternatives for your teenagers.

At our library, Dee's books are in large demand, so we were on the waiting list for some books for up to six months. Those books we purchased at the local bookstore. I think they are also available from walmart.com books.

1 Thessalonians 4:

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18Therefore comfort one another with these words.

God bless,

Nannette
