Honestly, I wouldn't want to be with someone so shallow as to be put off by a few extra pounds. It's never been a problem for me to be with a person wearing XL (or more). Eat as healthily as your income will allow, and exercise regularly - whatever size you are is the size you are, so who cares as long as you're fit? It's God who gets the last say on our lives anyway, so put all efforts into pleasing Him first.

It is turly refreshing to hear a real man of God voice his opinion that is Godly and factual. This is something that I have wanted to talk about for awhile but am too reserved on this topic to the public. I am still getting Gods' temple into shape for His Holy Spirit to dwell comfortably. I did not get in shape for anyone but God, this is just one asect of my walk.................Rebirthedanew

Oh, I understand both view points shared here, but my mother used to tell me also, just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't make it right.
Watching our weight is important for health reasons, but by the same token, judging people by thier looks, many times we end up passing by some very close and meaniful relationships.
God declares His children may still be in this world but no longer of it, therefore we need to show all aspects of His love and not worry what the world thinks of it, by accepting and loving all people, looking for the person God chooses for us, not who we want by physical looks.
I do ask for forgiveness if offended anyone.
God Bless!! ChloGod

Are you serious? In today's society, why would we not be sensitive about our weight? I am at a healthy and attractive weight, but I'm still sensitive about it and feel that it's no one's business. We're bombarded with images and attitudes that thin, perfect bodies are required for us to be acceptable. I have seen profiles, not on this site thank goodness, where men say if you're heavier than 120 pounds or larger than size 8 not to even bother to contact them. Yes, we all know that it's what is on the inside that counts, but a lot of men do not truly believe that. They're looking for that trophy to attach to their arm. If weight is so important to you, maybe you're shopping at the wrong store.

I agree with you completely. What would make woman so embarassed about their weight? as a woman, if i am to be over my ideal body weight....i know that there is something i need to adjust in my life.
could it be that i am not nourishing my body/temple of GOD with healthy foods, not exercising, or over indulging.
this are things that would make me embarassed and ashamed.
